Today we visited Myddfai, a charming village signed & sealed with Sarah Beeny's stamp of approval. A village she rescued with a government grant to build a visitor information & community centre. Loved the cottages, loved the streetscapes, loved Myddfai.
Our short cut through country lanes delivered us to the tail of an unnamed bike race. This meant sharing the narrow thoroughfare with hundreds of cyclists for a distance of ten miles. The pain of the uphill push etched on their faces, their free-wheeling downhill runs reaching speeds of 40 mph.
Our drive through the Brecon Beacons National Park delivered on all counts. The scenery was just beautiful. A location, location, location experience.
Covering 2000 acres of forest above Talybont-on-Usk was Lower Blaen y Glyn. The beautiful landscape of this region is understandably protected for its wildlife & cultural heritage. With stile, we climbed a fence, chose carefully placed stepping stones to cross the mud flats to creek's edge for some photos.
